Description
Asbury Dickins, whose signature appears in the top right corner, was a bookseller and publisher. Dickins ran a publishing business in Philadelphia, publishing a successful political and literary weekly titled The Port Folio. Dickins served in various government positions between the 1830s and 1860s, most notably as secretary of the U.S. Senate between 1836 and 1861.
