Description
"Steal not this book my honest friend, for fear the gallows will be your end. H.T."
This book features two warnings to potential book thieves, a poem:
"Steal not the book my honest friend, For fear you come to some bad end, And at the judgment you shall be, Damned throughout all eternity. Anonymous."
and the sketch of a man in a top hat with a similar warning. The book also contains multiple signatures of prior owners. A stamp on one page indicates the book once was held at “The Grove, Morden Aylesford, Nova Scotia.”
