Description
"Steal not this book my honest friend for fear you come to some bad end and at the judgement you shall be damned throughout all eternity. Anonymous."
This book features two warnings to potential book thieves, a poem and the sketch of a man in a top hat with a similar warning: “Steal not this book my honest friend – for fear the gallows will be your end.” The book also contains multiple signatures of prior owners. A stamp on one page indicates the book once was held at “The Grove, Morden Aylesford, Nova Scotia.”
