War: Law, Philosophy, and Perceptions

On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine as the latest escalation in the Russo-Ukranian War, a conflict that has been in progress since 2014. This action came on the heels of a global pandemic, a tumultuous transfer of power in the United States, and various continued conflicts around the globe. The upheaval of the past two years caused us to examine life today and reflect on global conflict and strife throughout history.

With this exhibit, we turn to the past for context and to tell the story of how nations have justified waging war and negotiated peace. The exhibit also features more recent publications, some of which have been selected from the library’s general collection, to incorporate more recent stories and diverse viewpoints.
