Description
"For Geraldine G. Henderson with the best wishes of the author, Harry Ashmore, Santa Barbara, February, 1977"
Harry S. Ashmore was a journalist who covered the 1957 desegregation of Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. He won a Pulitzer Prize in editorial writing in 1958 for his piece titled “The Crisis Mr. Faubus Made,” a rallying point for the city’s liberal population that opposed segregation. This book, dedicated and signed by Ashmore, covers the tensions between the federal government and the press during the Nixon administration.
