Warren Burger served as Chief Justice of the United States from 1969 to 1986. Burger also served as Chancellor of William & Mary between 1986 and 1993. Roscoe Pound’s Jurisprudence was signed by Burger and dedicated to the William & Mary Law Library. Throughout his tenure on the Supreme Court, he frequently championed the improvement and modernization of judicial administration and legal education. His deep commitment to these principles is reflected in his long-standing relationship with the university. This book is also signed by the author, Roscoe Pound, dean of Harvard Law School from 1916 to 1936.
