Description

The first footnote is inserted at the end of the following phrase: "which authority may arise either from some process from the courts of justice" and reads "(1) But there is a distinction between officers, & parties or strangers, justifying under process, for which see 1 Ld. Ray. 30g. Britton v. Cole Salk 408. S. C. W. Green."

The second footnote is inserted at the end of the following phrase: "such as arresting of a felon by a private person without warrant, the impressing of mariners for the public service" and reads "(2) Video Broadfoot case, 1 Law [Mag]. 299."
