International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands
Abstract
This summer, Sarah is working at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands. As a United Nations tribunal, it is a minimum three month commitment. Sarah will be working in the Appeals Chamber on Prosecutor v. Popovic, the largest appeal in international criminal history. On a team of interns, she will be conducting legal research, writing legal briefs, and building up the Prosecutor’s case against an alleged war criminal who directed or participated in the Srebrenica Massacre of July 1995 which resulted in the deaths of over 8,000 Bosnian men and boys.
