People Against Suffering, Oppression and Poverty (PASSOP) in Cape Town, South Africa
Abstract
This summer, Mary will be working at People Against Suffering, Oppression, and Poverty (PASSOP) in Cape Town, South Africa. PASSOP is a community-based non-profit organization and grassroots movement that works to protect and promote the rights of all refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants in South Africa. As an intern, Mary’s duties include writing appeals on behalf of asylum seekers who have been denied refuge in South Africa as well as researching employment discrimination within the country.
