Description

The William & Mary Board of Visitors votes to reduce duplication among programs at Virginia colleges by abolishing the Law School after the 1940 graduation ceremonies. Swift and vocal protests from current students, alumni, and prominent Virginians force the Board to reconvene and reconsider. After hearing the arguments, the Board promises to “retain the law school … [and] to strengthen it in every way.”
