Charles Samuel Smith, Jr. (1882-1963) was a graduate of William & Mary and the University of Virginia. He served as a Commonwealth's Attorney of Gloucester County, Virginia, for two years. He published his Justices' Guide (1929) as a resource for justices on the bench in Virginia. The book is an up-to-date guide to statutory resources, references, and principles of law. It also includes forms for warrants, deeds, writs, wills, and other documents.
