William Lawrence Clark's (1863-1918) Hand-book of Criminal Procedure (1895) was composed as a hornbook of the rules for pleadings, evidence, and practice of criminal law. The format provides brief statements of leading principles and black-letter law, along with Clark's commentary, notes, and authorities. The work covers topics surrounding legal methods for apprehending suspects, rules and processes for prosecution and defense, and regulations and policies for punishment. It was published in West Publishing's Hornbook series, which contains several of Clark's works in addition to others included in the Wolf Law Library's Harris Collection.
