Description
Parsons, Theophilus. The Law of Contracts. 7th ed. Boston: Little, Brown, and Company, 1883.
Theophilus Parsons (1797-1882) was a prolific author and legal scholar. From 1848 to 1870, he served as the Dane Professor of Law at Harvard. His Law of Contracts (1853) was developed with practitioners and students as its intended audience. It covers the foundational topics of contract law, including parties, assignment, consideration, and contracts for both real and personal property. This edition was published shortly after the author's death, and its editor chose to present Parsons's original revisions and to include any necessary updates in separate notes on caselaw and statutes.
