West, William. The First (–Second) Part of Symboleographie: Which May be Termed the Art, or Description of Instruments and Presidents. London: Printed by Miles Flesher, 1647. Private collection.

First printed in 1590, this popular book of forms enjoyed broad circulation on both sides of the Atlantic. It was one of the books that George Thorpe (1576–1622) requested of Sir Edwin Sandys (1561–1629) when he created the General Court library in 1621. This copy of a later edition is on loan from a private library.
