Williamsburg, Feb. 14 -- Dr. Dudley W. Woodbridge has been unanimously elected dean of the College of William and Mary Law School and chairman of the department of jurisprudence.

This action was taken on recommendation of President John E. Pomfret by the board of visitors at its recent mid-Winter meeting. Dr. Woodbridge is chancellor professor of jurisprudence and has been a member of the faculty since 1927.

As acting-dean during the past two sessions, Dr. Woodbridge "has administered these departments excellently, and is a distinguished teach of law," said Dr. Pomfret. He has won recognition through Summer appointments at the University of Florida, the University of Illinois, and the University of Virginia.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, he earned his doctorate of jurisprudence there in 1927. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Virginia Bar Association, and has been elected into the Order of the Coif, Omicron Delta Kappa, and the American Association of College Professors.
