Proceedings of the Conference on International Relations, held at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., June 15-30, 1915. Boston: World Peace Foundation, 1916.

The Conference on International Relations occurred in the middle of World War I and was largely focused on American foreign policy concerns. A large portion of the conference was dedicated to the discussion of international law and war, and specifically if law had failed the international community. The section displayed is from writings on creating a League of Peace, an idea that eventually led to the formation of the League of Nations, which was then followed by the United Nations. The conference also discussed nationalism and rising armament, the philosophy of force and war, economics of war, and democracy and war – all topics being discussed still in modern conflict.
